IC 1593 is a double star. Bigourdan found it on a poor night (he notes, "The sky being poor, the description was made in bad conditions."), and clearly thought it a marginal object ("... semi-nebulous, semi-stellar, without perceptible detail."). Nevertheless, he measured it and included it in his list of "novae" as number 367. His reduced position points directly at the double.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
