IC 1613 is one of the best-known IC objects, of course being one of the very large, low-surface-brightness irregulars in the Local Group. Wolf's discovery note (in English) is in MNRAS 67, 91, 1906.
The position is necessarily an approximation. There is no nucleus, so I have estimated the center of the bar. Probably a better position could be derived from isophotes, but this would hardly be worth the effort at this point.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
