IC 1641 is a cluster in the SMC, Lindsay 87. I used to think that it could also carry the number NGC 422, but am sure now that it does not (see NGC 422 for that story).
For many years, we've all taken another, fainter SMC cluster (Hodge-Wright 62) as IC 1641. But that makes no sense as Stewart's position falls much closer to the brighter cluster that he must have picked up on his plate.
