A notable pair of orange 7th magnitude stars separated by 1.5', HD 33980 is the southwestern star while HD 33979 is the northeastern member of this pair, 35' southwest of HR 1771
While this looks like an obvious pair it is not likely they are binary, while parallax is similar at 2.2 and 2.4mas proper motion differs, at 1300ly distant the 1.5' angular separation indicates a very large physical separation
