John Herschel reported "a star 8-9 with faint nebulosity", no such nebulosity is visible around the star SAO 94827 which is 6.5 magnitude by modern measure, no nebulosity is visible in survey images in either visible or IR

NGC 2045 = Lalande 10842 = SAO 94827. John Herschel has this simply as "A star 8-9 mag with faint nebulosity." It is barely possible that there is a bit of faint nebulosity around the star, but it is not visible on any of the DSS images.― NGC Notes by Harold Corwin
