An even more dubious cluster than neighboring IC2157, a few stars, otherwise nothing remarkable at the coordinates (while IC2157 is probably a cluster, the status of IC2156 seems a little less clear, possibly an asterism)

IC 2156 may be a part of IC 2157 (centered just six arcmin south), but I think it's more likely just a chance grouping of about a dozen stars. There is certainly no nebulosity involved, though Espin claims to have seen some on a photographic plate. His terse description reads, "Jan. 11 [1900] coarse cluster, a nebulous object on photographic plate".― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
