White, a 12th magnitude companion visible 1' west
WDS lists a number of companion stars for l Ori, the 12th magnitude star seen 1' west is the B companion, there are also C thru G listed as well, a few observers got carried away here! There are a number of 9 to 13th magnitude stars in close proximity that seem to explain this... In the Gaia EDR3 data things get simpler... The 11.8m B 63" west is a backgroud star, C and D appear to be a 9th and 11th magnitude 4.5" pair 115" south are also a background stars, 10.8 magnitude E is found 114" north is yet another background star, while SIMBAD shows no data for E and G, indeed none of the WDS stars appear to be a physical companion to l Ori
