20cm f/6 Newtonian, Cave Astrola @ 45x
Seeing: 6 Transparency: 6 Moon: 0%
A very large assemblage of 5th to 8th magnitude stars spaning a degree of sky, obvious in the 50mm finder and requiring very low power in the 'scope to appreciate, perhaps a dozen stars seen against a rich galactic starfield, the 5th magnitude HR 2756 at the center

20cm f/6 Newtonian, Cave Astrola @ 61x
Seeing: 7 Transparency: 6 Moon: 0%
A large area studded with 5-6 magnitude stars, coarse, sparse, fully resolved, very rich galactic starfield, the pretty double HR2768/SAO197788 in the southeastern reach

8x42mm Nikon Prostaff 3S Binoculars @ 8x
Seeing: 7 Transparency: 6 Moon: 0%
A sparse patch of brighter stars about 1° across in a very rich galactic starfield, fully resolved, a good binocular object

Feb 25, 2020 Waikoloa, HI (map)
20cm f/6 Newtonian, Cave Astrola @ 61x
Seeing: 7 Transparency: 7 Moon: 0%
A loose association of bright stars 5-7th magnitude in a rich galatic starfield, larger than the 1.3° field of the eyepiece, a nice double with HR2768 on the southeast side

Jan 1, 2011 Hale Pohaku, HI (map)
28cm f/10 SCT, NexStar 11" Gypsy @ 80x
Seeing: 6 Transparency: 6 Moon: 0%
A wide cluster defined by a handful of bright blue stars, too large for the 28cm and 35mm Pan, a better binocular or RFT object
Andrew Cooper
Jan 1, 2011 Hale Pohaku, HI (map)
9 x 63 Binoculars @ 9x
Seeing: 6 Transparency: 6 Moon: 0%
With binoculars the cluster is a line of 5 stars running east-west with one further star southwest of the line, no obvious faint members, visible to the unaided eye
