A spendid field! the brilliant orange star c Pup is surrounded by a scattering of 6th to 8th magnitude stars covering an area over a degree across, coarse, bright, obvious in the 50mm finder, fully resolved, the blue-white 5.9 magnitude HR 3011 lies 8' east of c Pup, while the matching blue white 5.9 magnitude HR 3022 lies 11' west, the very rich cluster NGC 2477 lies is 1.5° east-southeast, a stark contrast as NGC 2477 is a swarm of 11 to 12th magnitude stars compared to the bright and coarse NGC 2451, the entire region is a delight at low power magnification, in an RFT, or binoculars
