A 10' region of nebulosity and cluster surrounding the 9th magnitude star V402Pup, bright, obvious, partially resolved, with innumerable faint stars embedded in the glow, the nebulae is also designated Sh2-311, a notable clump of stars on the eastern margin forming the cluster Haffner 18, another clump 10' northwest is Haffner 19, a very pretty complex of cluster and nebulae in a very rich galactic starfield

46cm f/4.5 Newtonian, Deep Violet @ 95x
Seeing: 7 Transparency: 7 Moon: 0%
A notable oval of gas in thick galactic starfield centered on a 9th magnitude star, catalogued as a cluster as well, it is not obvious what stars might be involved besides the central star, hints of nebula surround the brighter region with some structure possible

46cm f/4.5 Deep Violet
Good sized, bright, a round nebula centered on a 9th magnitude star, about 5' in diameter, the nebula shows some structure, a radial lane to the southeast and a rift on the north separating a small knot of the nebula with several embedded 10th magnitude stars, the associated open cluster is quite underwhelming and poorly detached in the otherwise thick starfield, the small clusters Haffner18 and Haffner19 visible to the northeast
