This is the brighter, southeastern of a pair of galaxies in a group; there are several others in the field. Javelle's micrometric position is just a few arcseconds to the southeast of the nucleus of the brighter galaxy, so there is no mistaking the object he saw.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
