IC 2235 is a double star. This holds the distinction of being the first object in the first paper of a long series published primarily by Max Wolf and Karl Reinmuth at Heidelberg with positions of nebulae found on photographic plates taken at Heidelberg. I have not seen a print of the original plate on which this was found (the plate is apparently lost or destroyed; see IC 2262 for more on the early Heidelberg plates), but Wolf's positions on other plates have proved to be very good, so there is little doubt of the identity.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
