Rich orange, a bright 8.3 magnitude companion visible 42" east, this companion is one of Smyth's infamous "green" stars, in actuality is it an orange K1III, though to be fair in contrast to the primary's rich orange it might be seen as green, with a bit of generosity to Smyth

A coarse double star, close upon the compass with which the moderns have furnished the Argo. A 6, red; B 9½, green, which is Piazzi's No. 74, Hora VIII. A ray from Rigel passed below Sirius, and extended 25° to the east-south-east (rather more than as far again), will pick it up. This appears to be S. No. 568, whose micrometrical measures may be thus compared with reductions from the mean apparent places in the Palermo Catalogue, and the whole data yield evidence of fixity:P.
