Javelle says that this object is right at the limit of visibility in his 30-inch refractor. The galaxy is indeed very faint (around 17th magnitude), but his measured position falls within 4-5 arcsec of the nucleus, and his description is accurate. We'll take it.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
