Observing Notes

Harold Corwin

Like IC 3009, this is probably a defect on Schwassmann's plate. There is nothing at all at his position, let alone anything that matches his description "pB or pF, cS, N s M, N = * 10.5, S N pt" ("pt" means "pointed"). The mention of the bright eccentric nucleus especially reminds me of some of the blemishes that regularly appear on the POSS1, especially near the edges of the plates.
