Like IC 3009, this is probably a defect on Schwassmann's plate. There is nothing at all at his position, let alone anything that matches his description "pB or pF, cS, N s M, N = * 10.5, S N pt" ("pt" means "pointed"). The mention of the bright eccentric nucleus especially reminds me of some of the blemishes that regularly appear on the POSS1, especially near the edges of the plates.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
