IC 3074 is a late-type galaxy seen almost exactly edge-on. The DSS images appear to show a galaxy similar to NGC 55 with an eccentric bar, in this case toward the northern end of the galaxy, and a slightly fainter arm toward the southern end. The SDSS image is somewhat more symmetric, but the center of the bulge is still offset toward the north.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
