Based on its appearance on the Sky Survey print and the DSS, I had called this a galaxy and a star. However, it is clearly a double galaxy on the DSS2 images, and on the SDSS. The nucleus of the northwestern galaxy is a bit eccentric, suggesting that the two galaxies are interacting. They are indeed at the same redshift, z = 0.0505, according to the SDSS spectra.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
