IC 3544 is a double star exactly at Schwassmann's position, and matches his description pretty well: "cF, vS or S, ph * 12.5" ("ph" = perhaps). His magnitude estimates tend to be too bright by 2 or 3 magnitudes -- the double is more like 15.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
