As with the other double galaxies found by Javelle, I'm curious about which one he saw. In this case, the southern of the two objects is brighter, and Javelle's position is a little closer to it -- but not enough in this case to convince me that he saw more than a blur here. That matches his description, too: "eF, vS, below [south of] a 14th magnitude star." The star is there, just to the northeast.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
