IC 1102 is a pair of galaxies colliding. Coincidentally, the two nuclei are very closely aligned and are seen about an arcsecond apart. I've taken the position of the brighter nucleus -- which apparently belongs to the larger galaxy -- as representative of the system.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
