25cm f/5 Astrograph

Diffused dark spot, diam. 15', small star in it. This spot and B 41 are connected with the great nebula about Ny Scorpii and are doubtless denser opaque masses of the nebula. There is a larger dark region belonging to this same system in a = 16h 23m, d = -19°30' (B 43), from which broken dark lanes somewhat like those from Rho Ophiuchi, though less marked, run eastward for some degrees."
