20cm f/6 Newtonian, Cave Astrola @ 61x
Seeing: 5 Transparency: 7 Moon: 0%
An almost starless region on the western edge of the Scutum star cloud, larger than the 4' listed, the extents are not clear as this is a mere part of complex of dark nebulae that spans several degrees, beautiful and quite visible given the great transparency tonight

25cm f/5 Astrograph
Irregular, diam. 4', one small star in it. Apparently a real object, the south of several dark markings covering a space 45' in diameter. They form a notched outline to the northwest side of the large star cloud in Scutum."― A Photographic Atlas of Selected Regions of the Milky Way, E.E. Barnard, 1927
