Moderately dark, somewhat defined, an obvious dark blot against the otherwise rich summer Milky Way, while less dark or defined compared to neighboring B50 the pair is still striking either side of the bright star HD154090 (mag 4.8) dark complexes of nebula fill the region with streamers and knots and make fine sweeping
