A modest 8.8 magnitude white star lost in rich galactic starfield, no companion noted
The star is referred to as Hind's Star, not to be confused with Hind's Crimson Star R Lep or Hind's Variable Nebula. The star is a type L variable modestly ranging from 8.9 to 9.3, John Russell Hind noted that from Sept. 3, 1848 till Nov. 14, 1850 the star was red, then it became bluish-white [J.R.Hind, MN 11, 46, 1850.]
