IC 2694 is a double galaxy, though it appears as a single object on Wolf's plate. He notes two brighter stars nearby; both are on his plate, too. There is a much fainter star to the northwest of the brighter galaxy, but it is too faint to be seen on Wolf's plate.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
