IC 2766 is a fairly late-type spindle galaxy, flanked by two faint stars. All three objects are included in the image on the print of Wolf's plate, but the stars are enough fainter that I have not included them as a part of the IC object. This may be a mistake...― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
