IC 3334 may be just the galaxy, or it may also include the star to the south. The image on the print of the original plate is elongated north-south and clearly includes both star and galaxy. There is a fainter star to the east, but I do not see any trace of it on the print.
Until the original plate can be examined, I will keep both the southern star and the galaxy as parts of the IC object -- but note that I could well be wrong.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
