Earlier, I had this as "a star with a superposed defect at Wolf's position. It shows clearly on the print of the original plate." Indeed it does, but it is, in fact, a compact galaxy. It is flanked by two much fainter galaxies. There is also another galaxy of similar brightness to the IC object just to the northeast; it also shows well on the print, but Wolf does not mention it.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
