What appears at first sight to be a faint, stellar nucleus is shown to probably be a superposed F9 star by the SDSS spectrum. We can't be quite sure, however, since the object's velocity is -54 +- 4 km/s. In any other part of the sky, this would certainly be a superposed star. But at least a dozen galaxies in the direction of the Virgo Cluster have negative redshifts. This may well be one of them.
The positions for the galaxy from the catalogues and scans are probably influenced by the star. The actual center of the galaxy seems to be just a few arcseconds southeast of the star, so I've taken the SDSS position, the most southeasterly from those available.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
