Observing Notes

Harold Corwin

IC 425 does not exist. Wolf says of it in AN 131, 157, 1892 (AN 3130):
A very broad diffuse nebula, extending at least 30 'in dec and 20' in RA, surrounds the area [alpha] = 5h 28m [delta] = +32d 20' [equinox B1855.0] It is fainter than the previous one [IC 410].
As there is nothing on any of the DSS images at his position, this is almost
certainly a defect on his original plate. See IC 419 for brief additional
notes.
