IC 386 is probably = NGC 1632. Note the possible confusion here over the identity of NGC 1632 -- its quoted position falls between IC 382 and IC 386. The RNGC (probably incorrectly) chooses IC 382, the larger and brighter galaxy, as NGC 1632, but does not mentioned the IC number. The NGC position, however, is closer to IC 386 and the descriptions (through similar size refractors) are the same. So, somewhat cautiously, I am going to adopt that identity.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
