A clump in rich galactic starfield, a couple dozen 12th magnitude stars among a rich glow, perhaps 10' in diameter, rich, partially resolved, not obvious, is this a true cluster or simply a concentration in the galactic starfield?
Archinal & Hynes list this as a cluster with no other explanitory notes, SIMBAD lists NGC 2455 as a cluster with no references, apprently no published research on the cluster since 1850, WEBDA likewise shows no references, there seems to be no published data confirming the status of this cluster
