For some time, I had this as a double galaxy with the brighter of the pair to the north. Looking at this again in August 2015, I now believe that this is a single object with distorted arms to the south, a bright central bulge, and a single knot to the northwest. The positions in the table now reflect this thinking.
Unfortunately, there seem to be no high-resolution images of the galaxy available. Courtney Seligman has given us color images from the DSS, and also suggests that this is a single galaxy. But this is outside the SDSS footprint and there are no HST images available, either.
But this does indeed look like a single peculiar galaxy, at least based on the DSS2 images.― NGC Notes by Harold Corwin
