Faint but distinct open cluster, very rich, located in a rich starfield south of Eta Cepheus, just resolved into faint stars, the cluster fades evenly in all directions and is framed by a nice set of stars, NGC6946 is just one eyepiece field (40') east

A rich spray of fine 12th magnitude stars arranged in an 8' fan, anchored by a coarser area of brighter stars in the SW corner
