IC 808 is only two neighboring stars mistaken by Bigourdan for a slightly nebulous cluster. The galaxy identified by Wolf in his sixth list of nebulae as IC 808 is much too faint for Bigourdan to have seen. Wolf's position and comment "* 11 s 1 arcmin" clearly identify his object, just as Bigourdan's position points exactly at the following (slightly brighter) of the two stars.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
