This is apparently, from the SDSS image, a single galaxy. I had interpreted it earlier, from the first DSS and the POSS1 prints, as a triple interacting system. However, the southern "component" is clearly just the bright southern arm of the spiral. The northern component is either a bright blue knot in the galaxy, or perhaps a superposed star.
