IC 3750 is a star, verified on the print of the original plate. There is another star 15.5 arcsec south that Wolfgang took as IC 3750. On the red DSS, it does indeed look a little brighter, but the northern star is brighter on the blue POSS1 print, so is probably the object that Wolf marked.
