This is a proposed observing site I hope to check out for possible extended observing outings, possibly a camping/observing trip. It is an area located at about 5,800ft on the SW flank of Mauna Kea. The land is DLNR land, thus open for observing with a permit from the local DLNR office. The road in offers mutiple possibilities along the first mile or so, including an area with a deliberately planted windbreak and a large meadow behind Pu'u Ahumoa.
