IC 3343 is perhaps the star that I've included in the position table. It is just east of NGC 4411 = IC 3339 (which see). There are two other brighter stars that might have been involved, though, as might the eastern reaches of NGC 4411 itself. Schwassmann's position is not particularly close to any of the three stars (I've taken the nearest, though it is the faintest), and his object could well be a blend of any two or even all of them. His description "eF, vS, ??, alpha delta ::" is not too helpful, either. Is there perhaps a defect involved? The original plate would help, but it may no longer exist.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
