Pale yellow, a 7th magnitude 2" companion not visible, the 6th magnitude HD 194960 is 4' southeast.

ρ Cap is the nothern star of the ρCap trio, three bright stars within a one degree area two of which are nice binaries, with π Cap 32' southwest and ο Cap 48' southeast.
