οCap is a fine binary with a pair of white stars showing about one magnitude difference, οCap A is a 5.9 magnitude while οCap B is 6.7 magnitude about 22" to the southwest.
οCap is the southern member of the ρCap trio, three bright stars within a one degree area two of which are nice binaries, with ρCap 48' northwest and πCap 43' northwest.
Gaia DR2 data shows a close match in both parallax and proper motion data indicating a binary pair.
