Observing Notes

Harold Corwin

IC 3699 is a double star, verified on the print of the original plate. Though there is a galaxy 0.8 arcmin to the north-northeast, Wolf's mark on the plate, his measured position, and his comment "2 *'[s] 13 np, * 15 n 1 arcmin," all point clearly to the stars as the IC object. See IC 3636 for more about the discovery plate.
