IC 3838 = IC 3827. Bigourdan made a mistake of +1 minute in the RA of his comparison star. Otherwise, his four observations on 14 Apr 1895 are a detailed and accurate account of the galaxy, the star to the south (also noted by Howe), and the comparison star.― IC Notes by Harold Corwin
